Ganglion

This is a swelling or a special type of cyst usually related to a joint. At times it is linked to a tendon. The content of the swelling is the fluid lubricating the nearby joint or tendon. It’s most commonly seen on the back or front of the wrist but can be seen on the palm, fingers, ankles or foot. At times, the ganglion will disappear itself but if it persists and is painful or unsightly, surgery is considered.
