These arms are often called “bingo wings” or “bat wings”. The surgery to correct this is called an upper arm lift. It is commonly performed after a large amount of weight loss or with ageing. The surgery aims to reshape the upper arm by removing excess and redundant skin and fat from the upper arm. The operation involves placing a scar that runs from the elbow to the armpit on the inside of the arm. It is performed under general anaesthetic and may be a day case procedure.
A more comprehensive list of the benefits, risks and limitations will be discussed with you at the consultation.
