Dr. Jenny Lynch graduated from University College Galway in 1996. Her basic surgical training was completed under the Western Health Board. She completed the Irish higher surgical training scheme in Plastic Surgery. Dr. Lynch did a research fellowship in Ann Arbor, Michigan and completed her thesis in muscle mechanics where among other accolades, she was the Baronio scholar at the Plastic Surgery Research Council in Las Vegas 2003.
Dr. Lynch worked in Albania on two humanitarian surgical expeditions. One of those trips was the first one undertaken by the group. The trip was educational, eye opening and a hugely rewarding experience.
Dr. Lynch has a great interest in functional hands. She completed a Hand Surgery Fellowship at the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby, Uk in 2008. She also did a Hand Surgery Fellowship at Royal North Shore hospital, Sydney, Australia in 2009. Back in the UK she completed the BMI Nagor Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship in Birmingham, Hereford and Coventry.
Dr. Lynch works full time as a consultant plastic surgeon at the Mater Private, Cork.
Throughout her life, Dr. Lynch has had a great interest in sport competing in athletics, squash, racquetball and hockey at County, Provincial, National and International level. These days she spends her free time trying to get her golf handicap down – it’s currently 10.
